What would the rental fee be for my event?
Daily rental fees range from $8K-$15K depending on the day and date. Weekends, certain holidays and peak season (May/Jun/Sep/Oct) rates are higher, so flexibility with your date(s) can reduce your budget. Ask if non-profit, promotional or multiple-day discounts are applicable. Contact us with more details to obtain a custom quote for your event.
Is it possible to rent only a portion of the space?
SRS books no more than one event per day to ensure the best experience for every client. While you may section off portions of the space as per the needs of your event, the fee reflects rental of the entire venue.
What is the rental fee for a photo or video shoot?
SRS will rent by the hour to photographers and filmmakers. Contact us for a customized quote based on the complexity, size, space requirements and length of your shoot.
How do I reserve the space for my event?
A deposit of 50% of the rental fee is necessary to reserve a date. The remaining balance and security deposit is due 30 days before the event. (If you book within 30 days of your event, all fees are due in full at the contract signing. The security deposits are refunded within 30 days of the event, less any damages. Proof of insurance is due 30 days prior to the event date.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Sound River Studios accepts certified and personal checks, money orders, wire transfers, and all major credit cards. There is a 3.5% service fee for credit cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 90 days prior to your scheduled event for a full refund less a $2500 non-refundable booking fee. Cancel within 90 days of the event, and you forfeit your rental fee deposit. Cancel within 30 days of the event, and you forfeit your full rental fee. The security deposit will be fully refunded regardless of cancellation date. The date of the event may be changed to another available date, though a rebooking fee of $500 will be charged in addition to any difference in venue rental fee.
Do I need to provide my own insurance?
SRS requires you to purchase a Certificate of Insurance (COI) that covers you and your guests. We require $2M general aggregate / $1M per occurrence including property damage. If you plan to serve alcohol, your policy must include Host Liquor Liability (not Retail Liquor Liability which is only for cash bars, strictly prohibited at SRS).
In addition, each vendor you hire to work on site must also provide a COI that covers their staff. No vendor is permitted to work in the venue without a valid COI. (Vendors limited to deliveries and pickups are exempt.) On both client and vendor COIs, the venue must be listed as the additional insured. Identify the venue as follows: Anable Basin Sailing Inc., 4-40 44th Drive, Long Island City NY 11101.
Single-day policies for special events typically cost $150-$250 depending on the size and complexity of the event. Client COI is due with the final payment 30 days prior to the event. Once you or your planner have collected all COIs, you will forward them to SRS along with your vendor list, production schedule, and floor plan, all due two weeks prior to the event.
